St. Patrick's Day

St. Pat's is another holiday we have a lot of fun with around here.

I'm always looking for a good excuse to make a cookie cake.

The kids have little treasure boxes they decorated that we set out on St. Pat's eve.  We put them on the windowsill, where the moonlight can shine on them, that way the Leprechauns can find them.  Then the Leprechauns come and fill them with gold and hide them.

Luckily for the kids, they aren't too hard to find because they Leprechauns leave a trail wherever they go.
Usually the Leprechauns cause a bit of mischief while they are here.  It looks like some decided to play XBox with Rosie and Julian.  They also helped themselves to some root beers.
You can see here where one made his getaway from driving the trash truck.
And this looks like a scene from a monster truck rally.  Did they really think the trash truck would jump all those stuffed animals?

Valentine's Day

I am a sucker for Valentine's Day.  I don't know why, I just really love it.  The tradition we have is to have a candlelight dinner with the kids and a special dessert.

The kids were quite proud of their valentines from school.  They got a ton!  I guess that's an advantage of having 30 some kids in your class!

What happened to the last 3 months???

I'm not really sure where the time went???  We haven't done anything special...the time has just been flying by.  I guess they say time flies when you're having fun for a reason.

School and homework keep us really busy during the week.  All the hard work has paid off though, the kids both got good report cards for the trimester.  On the weekends, there's roller skating for Kara and soccer for Blake.  I will try and get some good pictures of those activities soon!

The weather here lately has been kind of crazy.  We had a couple weeks where it was in the 80's, so I was out shopping for spring clothes for the kids, sandals for the girls, and now all the sudden the last week it got cold.  Brrrr...  I think living here changes ones internal thermometer because 50 degrees is freezing cold to us now!  Just yesterday it hailed.  It lasted for about 20 seconds, I was so shocked that it was hailing I hurried and took a picture.  It was a good thing I took a picture because it melted in just a few minutes.

So now I imagine most of you are thinking, "Come on Stacy we didn't come here to see pictures of pebble sized hail"....And I am thinking, I've got to get the camera out more often and take more pictures...

So here's Leah Sue, my precious girl.  She is still so irresistible to all four of us.  The kids are always getting into trouble because they get distracted by her and don't get done what they are supposed to be doing.  I have to admit though, how could they resist?
