Leah's First Birthday

We had tons of fun celebrating Leah's birthday last week.  The day began with...pots and pans of course!  A Reardon family tradition.  For those who don't know about pots and pans, this is what the birthday boy/girl wakes up to on their birthday morning.  The rest of the family sneeks into the bedroom while the birthday boy/girl is still asleep and then we start banging!  Now we didn't want to scare Leah too much so to ease her into it we waited until she woke up and then we went in and played our pots and pans for her.  After a bunch of banging then we sing "Happy Birthday"

Saturday night we had Leah's party with Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Jeff.  We picked up some BBQ from our favorite local joint and I made one of Leah's favorites, homemade mac n cheese.  She enjoyed her dinner, and then it was on to presents.  She had plenty of help from big brother and big sister, and by the end she was opening by herself. 

Here is her cake.  I had it done at Target and I thought it looked great.  This is the only pic of the cake though, no pic of her eating it, because she didn't.  Let's just say there was a mishap with the candle and she is now terrified of cupcakes...may never eat one...only time will tell :(

Beware: Brand New Blogger!

Hi there!  I've taken to reading a few blogs in the past six months or so, and now I've finally decided to take the plunge...and write my own.  I'm hoping it will help me stay connected with family and friends I don't get to see as often as I would like.  I'm also hoping I don't bore my readers to death!  I do have a tendency to ramble...We will see how it goes!
